Obituary of Francis J. Delaney

Frank J. Delaney, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the age of 78 years. Prior to retiring he worked as a Sheriff's Officer for the Bergen County Sheriff's Department for 20 years. Frank was a Veteran of the United States Army proudly serving his country from 1965 – 1967. He was a member of the New Jersey Honor Legion, a member of the American Legion Post #55, Hackensack, VFW Post #3484, Saddle Brook, Knights of Columbus, Paramus and a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, Maywood. Frank also coached Little League Baseball and Football in Hackensack for many years. Beloved Husband of Patricia M. (nee Rizzo) for 49 years. Loving father of CAPT Michael Delaney and his wife Addison and Patrick Delaney and his wife Jennifer. Cherished grandfather of Katie, Kiernan, Keaghan, Breanne and Logan. Dearest brother of Patricia Philbin and her husband Bill. Frank is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral will begin from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Tuesday, January 18, at 8:45 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, 400 Maywood Ave, Maywood. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation at the funeral home.
