Thomas Aletta, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the age of 94. He was a life long resident of Hackensack, who proudly served his country from 1945 – 1947 serving in the Army Air Core, he was appointed to the Hackensack Police Department in 1951 and served in all divisions of the Police Department, retiring in 1986 with the rank of Captain. Thomas also worked for A/U Florist in Hackensack making deliverers for over 25 years. He was a life member of PBA Local # 9, Hackensack and he was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack. Beloved husband of 63 years to Rose (nee Ferrara). Loving father of Jacqueline Romano and her husband Ron of Park Ridge, and their children Nicole Romano and Victoria Romano, Lisa Fischer and her husband Ian of Waxhaw, NC, and their children Christopher T. Willem, Robert G. Willem, Brooke Fischer and Stacey Fischer and Thomas C. Aletta of Hackensack and his partner Maureen Miller. Dearest brother of the late Antoinette Figlia, Michael Aletta, Patrick Aletta and John Aletta. Thomas is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many loving cousins. The Funeral will begin on Monday February 28, 2022, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 PM for visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Thomas memory to: The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
