Obituary of Pamela Wright

With Deep Sadness, we wish to inform you that the spirit of Pamela Wright, nee Spence, 71, late retiree of Hackensack, New Jersey, USA, returned to God on Monday, March 7, 2022. Pamela worked as a secretary/stenographer for many years in Savanna-La-Mar, Jamaica, the land of her birth, before relocating to the United States in 1988. She settled in Hackensack, New Jersey, where she worked tirelessly in the health care trenches as a CNA/HHA until her recent retirement. Pamela is best known as the mother of Charmaine (her sister), Dwight and Jermaine, but was in fact a mother and a big-sister to many, a grandmother and great grandmother who was beloved and esteemed as a warm-hearted problem solver, and expert adviser on everything, for those with whom she interacted. She served as a deacon at the Leonia Presbyterian Church for a number of years, and also, more recently, attended, the Summit Church, Hackensack. The Memorial Service in celebration of Pamela's life and stewardship, will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church in Leonia. (Masks are required in the sanctuary) Her body will then return home to Jamaica for burial. The Spence family will receive friends on Friday, March 25, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm for visitation at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, where the body may be viewed. Pastor Leah Fowler will be present to offer prayers. In lieu of flowers please consider making a church donation in Pamela's memory. Donations may be given to Jermaine Spence for forwarding to the church.
