Obituary of Clara A. Krejsa

Clara A. Krejsa (nee McCartney), of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the age of 84 years. Clara graduated from Cathedral High School, New York, NY in 1955. Prior to retiring she had worked as a Legislative Aide for New Jersey State Senators Paul Contillo and Byron Baer. She was a member of the Bergen County Democratic Club, an Honorary Trustee of the 200 Club, a member of the Maywood Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and she was an active parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack where she sang in their choir for over 40 years. Beloved wife of the late William R. Krejsa (1988). Devoted mother of Ann Marie Bierbaum and her husband Craig, Diane Atwood and her husband Frank, and Joanne Siracusa and her husband Frank. Cherished grandmother of Kelly Moreyn and her husband Leon, Jeffrey Atwood and his fiancée Sally Weir, Stephanie Siracusa, Anthony Siracusa and Cory Bierbaum and his wife Lauren, and great grandmother to Talia Rose Moreyn. Dearest sister of the late Donald McCartney and Michael McCartney. Clara is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and her sisters-in-law Cora McCartney and Gail Denman. She is also predeceased by her loving partner the late Thomas Berntson (2019). The funeral will begin on Wednesday, June 1, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM for visitation at the funeral home. Masks are recommended.
