Anthony Asala

Obituary of Anthony Asala

Antonio (Anthony) Asala of Little Ferry, 93 years of age, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Anthony was born in Venticano, Italy on August 29th to the late Vincenzo and Rafaela Asala. Anthony was a former police officer in Italy and foreman/electrician here in the US for over 30 years. Anthony, or Tony as his friends called him was truly a "Mr. Fix it". He would drop everything anytime his family or a friend needed help with a house project. In his younger days he was also an avid bird and deer hunter and owned a cabin with some of his closest friends in upstate New York. He and his wife were also lifelong members of the Societa Italiana Unita (Italian Society Club). As much as he loved fixing things or hunting, they paled in comparison to the love he had for his family. Anthony Asala was a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Asala. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lea (Pilla) Asala, and his beloved daughter, Constance Penabad. Anthony is also survived by his grandchildren, Anthony Asala, Angela Asala, Dominique Patterson and Brian Penabad and great grandchildren Hunter Patterson and Carlos Penabad. You will always be part of our lives Nonno and we miss you so much. Please keep an eye on us all from heaven! The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, September 10th, 9 – 10:30 AM at Gentile Funeral Home Services., 397 Union Street, Hackensack, New Jersey 07601. Following the wake, a funeral mass is planned at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 49 Vreeland Ave, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory, 300 Soldier Hill RD, Township of Washington, NJ 07676.
