Robert "Bobby" S. Syrek, 84 of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Friday November 11, 2022. He was an Air Force veteran who was stationed at the Maguire Air Force Base in New Jersey as well as a member of the National Guard. Prior to retiring, Bobby worked for the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles for 23 years. He had a passion for classic cars and was a long time member of the American Cruisers Car Club. He was also an avid fan of horse racing and enjoyed visits to the racetrack. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Hackensack. Devoted son of the late Stanley Syrek and Mary (nee Turco), Bobby is survived by his siblings Eugene Syrek, Arlene Faustini, and Richard Syrek, sister-in-law Maryann Syrek, nephews Joseph Faustini, Michael Syrek, and Steven Syrek, niece Dina Faustini, and great-nephews Ryan Kurschner and Dean Kurschner, as well as extended family and close friends. The Funeral will begin from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Saturday, November 19th, at 8:30 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Ave., Hackensack at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18th from 4 - 8 PM for visitation at the funeral home.
