Obituary of Irma LoPresti

Irma LoPresti, 90, of Hackensack, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2022. Born in South Hackensack, Irma was a long-time resident of Hackensack. She was a dedicated, dependable, and multitalented individual. Irma was a Customer Service Representative for Sears & Roebuck, an effective teacher's aide at Nellie K. Parker School in Hackensack, and on election days she served as a poll worker for the Bergen County Board of Elections. Moreover, she was a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hackensack. Additionally, she was a passionate life member of the VFW Auxiliary in South Hackensack Post 8005 and most recently in Little Ferry Post 809. It was there that Irma gained state-wide recognition and was elected to several leadership offices on local, district, and state levels. Irma was the wife of the late Anthony P. LoPresti, the beloved mother of Michael (Nancy), Richard (Diane), and Nancy Wallace; the devoted grandmother of Lauren, Anthony, Gabrielle, Arielle, Jason Nunnermacker, James Nunnermacker (Jill); and great-grandmother of Layla and Charlotte. Irma was predeceased by her sister, Clementine "Dolly' Montenegro and is survived by her sister, Geraldine Paolella (Patrick); her brother, Ronald Ruta (Joanne); her nieces and nephews, Frances Borg, Virginia Montenegro, Patrick Paolella, John Paolella, and Christopher Paolella; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Service, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to VFW Post 809, 100 Main Street, Little Ferry, in Irma's name.
