Obituary of Scott B. Kent
With deep sadness and grief, the world lost a truly amazing person. Scott Kent (63) succumbed to his long battle with cancer on January 26, 2023. Born in Paterson, NJ, Scott's younger years were spent in Oakland, Midland Park and Ridgewood. Scott lived most of his life throughout Bergen County. Scott is predeceased by his parents Lillian & Jack Kent and his venerable brother Johnny. Scott is survived by his brother Mark, brother-in-law Bruce, Cousins: Debbie, Larry, Sandy, Jason, Adam, Joie, Chris, Nicole and Malisa. Scott's persistent and unyielding love touched many generations of the Kent family and beyond. Those of us lucky enough to have known him sincerely value his lifelong example of friendship, loyalty, honesty; his most generous, selfless devotion to putting everyone else's difficulties before any of his own. There is nothing he would not have done for others. Whether it was his sharp wit or sarcasm, Scott always found a way to make you laugh. His never-back-down attitude and unrelenting stubbornness afforded him the strength to battle the many challenges he faced throughout his life. HE NEVER GAVE IN/UP! Especially not to cancer! There aren't enough words to describe how special he was. Scotts work ethic was second to none. Whether it was tending bar at Guy's Celtic Pub in Waldwick or managing customers and providing domestic services for the family owned home cleaning and decorating business, Scott worked harder than most. He always took pride in his reliability and dedication to the job. With the exception of his family and friends, Scotts other devotion was to his New York Mets. He bled orange and blue and was a fanatic since day one of the organization. His knowledge of and his ability to recall every detail of his beloved Mets is unequaled. He was extremely proud and eager to share his deep wisdom of the game he loved. LGM The Kent family will always have a piece missing without Scott, but his memory will live on with us all; his positivity and loving attitude will eternally make an impact in every one of our lives. Scott, we will NEVER SAY GOODBYE! In lieu of flowers, please donate to a cancer research charity of your choosing in his name. Arrangements conducted by G.
