Obituary of Darwin Orlando Torres

Darwin Orlando Torres, of Saddle Brook formerly of Maywood, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2023 at the age of 89 years. He was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and came to the United States in 1938. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, and a former Volunteer Fireman for the Maywood Fire Department. Prior to retiring he worked for I.B.E.W Local #3 New York City, NY for over 40 years. Beloved husband for 66 years to Miguelina (nee Melendez). Loving father of Josephine Martire, Andre Torres and his wife Debbie, Orlando Torres and his wife Luz, Margarita Lagomarsino and her husband Andrew, Robert Torres and his wife Michelle and Anthony Torres and his husband Nicholas O'Neill. Cherished grandfather of 21 grandchildren and great grandfather of 25 great-grandchildren. Dearest brother of Edgar Torres and Edwin Torres. Darwin is also survived by several nieces and nephews. What we have lost in flesh, we have gained in eternity. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 11, at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, Cremation will be Private. The family will receive friends at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. on Friday, from 3:00 – 5:00 & – 7:00 - 9:00 PM for visitation.
