Obituary of Mary F. Tomeo

MARY F. WHALEN TOMEO, of River Edge, died on Friday, December 19, 2008, at the age of 91 years. Prior to retiring, she worked in sales at Stern's Department Store in Paramus . She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R. C. Church of Hackensack where she served as a eucharistic minister, altar server and cross bearer. Beloved wife of the late James Tomeo. Devoted mother of Jane Hess of Maywood , Richard of Texas, Ronald of Saddle Brook, Kenneth of New City, NY and the late James Tomeo Jr. Loving grandmother of Erik, Christian, Melissa, Dustin, Jonne, Leanne and Paul. Cherished great grandmother of Benson. Dearest sister of Robert Whalen of Waterford, NY and the late Regina Trudell. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23, at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue , Hackensack , at 11:00 AM. Interment following will be private. Visiting will be on Monday evening from 6 - 8 PM. Memorial donations to the Salvation Army, 430 Union St. , Hackensack , NJ 07601 , would be appreciated.
