Obituary of Lucretia A. Barca
Lucretia "Bunny" Barca (nee Uva), 84 of Hawthorne, formerly of Little Ferry, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Prior to retiring, she worked many years as an Administrative Specialist to the Judges in the Family Division for the Bergen County Courthouse in Hackensack. Previously, she was an 8th grade teacher at Immaculate Conception Grammar School, also in Hackensack. Bunny was an active parishioner of St. Margaret of Cortona in Little Ferry where she volunteered many hours at the Parish Food Pantry. She also served on the Little Ferry Public Library Committee and devoted her time to mentoring youths at the Children's Aid and Family Services Clinic in Paramus. For many years, she was an Avon Cosmetics Representative. Devoted mother of Gregory Barca and his wife JoAnn of Oakland and Nicholas Barca and his wife Maria of Westwood. Cherished grandmother of Lauren, Colette, and Thomas. Great-grandmother to Michael. She is pre-deceased by her beloved son Henry M. Barca Jr. (2007). Dearest sister of Maureen Wilgocki and the late Damian Uva. Bunny is also survived by her nephew Damian, his wife Anna, and her nieces Jeannine and Nicole, as well as many very dear friends. She was pre-deceased by her life-long friend Elaine Palladino. The Funeral will begin on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 8:30 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret of Cortona, 31 Chamberlain Avenue, Little Ferry, NJ, begins at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
