Errol G. Holt Obituary

Errol Gilchrist Holt, 73, of Hackensack, New Jersey, died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on November 22, 2023. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 12, 1950, to William and Barbara Holt. Errol attended Boston Technical High School before studying at Columbia University. He earned a B.A. from Columbia College's School of Engineering and Applied Science and an M.B.A. from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business. As a marketing expert, Errol managed business and brand identity for a portfolio of Fortune 100 companies. He grew brands including Samsung Electronics and Telecommunications, 3M Company, Consolidated Edison of New York, and The New York City Police Department. He negotiated the billion dollar deal between PepsiCo and Stolichnaya that also included the Russian government. Additionally, he spearheaded campaigns for the Special Olympics World Games. He was also a founder of the largest film and TV studios outside of Los Angeles, and was an officer of New York Studios, which led to Steiner Studios. Most recently, he enjoyed his role as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Ramapo College of New Jersey. Errol was working on a college textbook focusing on marketing and diversity. Errol will be remembered for his love of family, storytelling, travel, world cuisines, and horticulture. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jean, four children (Nicole, Michelangelo, Patricia, and Priscilla), two grandchildren (Theodora and Henry), his sisters (Nancy, Charlotte, and Barbara), and his uncle and aunt, Apostle and Mother James I. Clark, Jr.
