Obituary of Gloria M. Colombo

Gloria Mary Colombo (nee Pumilio) of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the age of 87. Prior to retiring she worked as a Special Education Assistant Teacher for over 35 years for the Hackensack Board of Education. Gloria was a life long parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, in Hackensack, where she taught CCD for 20 years and participated and planned many events and activities. She also volunteered at H.U.M.C. Gloria was devoted to St. Joseph and in doing so, she had a St Joseph table every year to honor him for her family, friends and community. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore A. Colombo (1969). Loving mother of Gale Spoto and her husband Robert of Hackensack and Maria Montana and her husband Christopher of Westwood. Cherished grandmother of Amanda & Alexa and her Grand dogs Rocky & Santino. Dearest sister of the late Gussie Castellano, Sadie Vitrano and Jimmy Pumilio. Gloria also leaves behind many close and loving nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral will begin from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Monday, December 11, at 8:45 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi St, Hackensack, with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 & 5:00 – 7:00PM for visitation at the Funeral Home.
