Obituary of Lucia Brancato

Lucia Brancato (nee Fabbiano) of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the age of 97. Born in Noto, Sicily, Italy, she came to the United States in 1950. Prior to retiring she owned and operated Starlite Coiffures in Hackensack for many years. Lucia was a member of the Hackensack Woman's Club, The Hackensack Ladies of Unico where she served as Chaplin, The Columbiettes, Societa Santa Croce Camerina and she was a devoted parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, in Hackensack where she was a member of their Socialites club. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore Brancato (1991). Loving mother of Maria C. Matera and her husband Edward of Hackensack and Frank Brancato and his wife Denise of Maywood. Cherished grandmother of Damian Matera and his wife Lindsey, Adriana Neblock and her husband Benjamin, Christopher Brancato and great-grandmother to Liliana, James, Willa and Alexander. Dearest sister of Clara Fabbiano Bongiovanni of Italy and the late Salvatore Fabbiano, Vincenza Fabbiano Raddante and Franca Fabbiano. Lucia also leaves behind many close and loving nieces, nephews and friends here in the United States and in Italy. The Funeral will begin from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Thursday, January 18, at 9:45 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi St, Hackensack, with entombment following at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00PM for visitation at the Funeral Home.
