Luis A. Peralta passed away on March 6, 2024 at the age of 56 in Hackensack, NJ. He was the son of Maria A. Shumi and Manuel H. Peralta. He was born on March 2, 1968 in Azogues, Ecuador. He came to Hackensack, NJ in 1988. Luis worked various jobs around Teaneck and Paramus until he settled down at River Road Hot Bagels located in Fair Lawn. He worked at Hot Bagels from 2006 until November 2023. Customers had a wonderful time watching him make bagels and talking to him behind the counter. He was loved by all the customers that got a chance to interact with him. He saw the community as his second family. Luis was preceded to heaven by his first wife and brother. He is survived by his second wife, 7 children, 3 grandchildren and his brothers and sisters located in NJ, NY, and Ecuador. Let's not forget about his cousins, nieces, and nephews

Luis was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His death affected many people that got the chance to interact with him. There was so much more to him than just being a father. He made such a special impact to everyone that knew him. His hard work, humor, and smile will surely be missed by his family and the local community. It was his wish that no one feel sad or cry during these tough times. Instead, Luis would like you to remember the good times and memories that made you smile and laugh with him.

The Funeral will begin on Tuesday, March 12, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Ave. Hackensack, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Sunday & Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation at the funeral home.
