Obituary of Richard A. Kunzweiler

Richard A. Kunzweiler, of Hackensack, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the age of 78 years. Prior to retiring, he worked as a Bar Restaurant Manager for the White Horse Inn in Woodland Park, NJ for many years. Richard proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving Two Bronze Service Stars. He was also a member of the VFW Post #8005 in South Hackensack and was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack. He was often found in his earlier years working hard in his garden, taking pride in growing the most delicious tomatoes and vegetables. He was known as the "Grill Master", making many delicious meals for his family and friends along with whipping up top-notch cocktails at the drop of a hat. His grandchildren meant the world to him and he loved spending time with them. Beloved husband of Linda A. (nee De Donato) for 23 years. Loving father of Melissa Messina and her husband Tony, Melinda Kunzweiler Goldstein and her fiancé Scott Knobler, Craig Parrella and his wife Lauren and Kristen Haenelt and her husband David. Cherished grandfather of Emilie, Cody, Amanda, Justin and Lauren. The Funeral will begin on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack. Cremation will be private. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation.
