Rita M. Hill (nee Sczesny) of Ridgefield Park, formerly of Jersey City passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the age of 88 years. Prior to retiring Rita worked for Colgate-Palmolive, Agfa and Jet Aviation. Rita was a volunteer for 15 years at Holy Name Hospital and the Veterans Administration in Hackensack. Rita was a dedicated lunch aide at Lincoln School in Ridgefield Park for many years. Beloved wife to the late John Hill (2004) and the late John O'Leary (1978). Loving mother of Lorraine and her husband John Santuoso, Michael, Steve, Johnny and Timmy O'Leary. Cherished grandmother to Nicole, John, Michael, Kim, Steven, Stephanie, Kevin, Brandon, Gavin and Cailin. Great-Grandmother to Addie and Callum. Dearest sister of Joan Meleniak, Lorraine Romano and the late Leona Gillett. Rita is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. The Funeral will begin from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Wednesday, April 24, at 8:30 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 114 Mt. Vernon Street, Ridgefield Park, NJ, with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation at the Funeral Home.
