Janet Hess (nee Heldman), 86 of Rochelle Park, NJ formerly of Englewood, FL, Midland Park and Tenafly, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Prior to retiring she worked in the Housekeeping Department for Emeritus Assisted living in Paramus for many years, she also worked for the Bergen Record for 20 years as a Regional Manager in the Circulation Department. Janet was a former Girl Scout leader and a former Chaperone for the Imperial knights both of Midland Park and a devoted volunteer for the Englewood Florida Library. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Hess (1993). Devoted mother of Elizabeth Ann Rathbun, Susan M. Rathbun, Sharon Belulovich and her husband David and the late Patrick J. Rathbun and his surviving wife Melissa. Cherished grandmother of Janice, Pamela, Christine, Nicole, Amanda, Tom, Matthew and River Mae. Great-grandmother of, Destiny, Shayla, Emily and Lucas. Dearest sister of the late Shirley Christensen and Elizabeth Heldman. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM for a Memorial Service, at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 PM.
