Obituary of Andrew D. Trause

ANDREW D. TRAUSE, “Andy” of South Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the age of 87. During the early 1960’s he was a past president and former board member of the South Hackensack Board of Education. During the late 1960’s he was a member of the South Hackensack Twp. Council and in 1972 he was Mayor of South Hackensack. Andy was also the president of Teamsters Local Union AFL CIO # 97 located in Union, NJ. He was a Marine Veteran of World War II, serving aboard the U.S.S. Franklin, a member of the V.F.W. Post #8005 of South Hackensack, member and past president of the Senior Citizens of South Hackensack and a parishioner of Church of the Immaculate Conception, Hackensack, where he was an Usher, Altar server and Eucharistic minster. Beloved husband of Frances (nee D’Alessio) for 62 years. Dearest brother of the late Josephine Marinaro, Katherine Barbire, Mary Duva and Helen Freschi. Andy is also survived by many loving sister-In-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The Funeral on Saturday July 6, at 8:45 AM from the Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Park Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.
