Obituary of Joseph M. Uzzalino

JOSEPH M. UZZALINO, of Toms River, formerly of Saddle Brook passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2014, at the age of 72. Born in Hackensack, he attended State Street School and during the 4th grade he received the achievement of Honor Roll Student. Prior to retiring he worked for Dell Contractors in W. Paterson for many years as an Operating Engineer, During the late 1960 he owned and operated Joe’s Barber shop in Ridgefield Park, he was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local #825 of New Jersey, a member of the Garfield Pigeons Club, member of Holiday City Republican Club, member and Vice-President of the Holiday City Carefree Committee both of Toms River and Vice-President of American Cruisers of Hackensack. Beloved husband of Betty A. (nee Lorentzen) for 41 years, Devoted father of Karen D. Zamani and her husband Benny of Saddle Brook. Cherished grandfather of Bennett, Keith, Sean and Christina. Dearest brother of Mary Lentini and her husband Joseph of Saddle Brook and the late Thomas Uzzalino and his wife Patricia of Ridgewood. Joseph is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral on Wednesday October 15, at 8:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Most Holy Name Church, 99 Marsellus Place, Garfield, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 P.M. for visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to John Theurer Cancer Center, 92 2nd St, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
