Obituary of Paul Ventimiglia

Paul Ventimiglia, of Kearny, died on Friday, March 2, 2007. Born in New York, he lived in Jersey City prior to coming to Kearny 17 years ago. From 1956-1966 he was an Amateur Boxing referee and in 1966 he became a Professional Boxing Referee and presently was a Boxing Judge. In 1988 Paul was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame and in 1996 was honored as the Man of the Year for the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. He has served as President of Ring 25, Ring 14, and Ring 20 and was the Second Vice President for the Boxing Hall of Fame. He was known for making monuments for deceased boxers. He was a Coast Guard Veteran of World War II and was a member of the Senior Club of Kearny and the Italian American Club of Kearny. He is the beloved husband for 64 years of Hilda Campanella Ventimiglia, and devoted father of Maria Burack and her husband Stephen of Hackensack and Michael Ventimiglia of Belleville, adored grandfather of Louis, Jill, Krystal and Stephen, cherished great grandfather of Mia and dearest brother of Rose Linardo of Brooklyn, NY. The Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, at 10:00 AM. Cremation Cedar Lawn Crematory. The family will receive friends on Monday from 7 - 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM
