Obituary of George M. Welkey

GEORGE M. WELKEY , of Hewitt, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012, at the age of 70 years. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he lived in Rutherford, prior to coming to Hewitt in 1977. Prior to retiring he was a Service Advisor for All American Ford in Hackensack. Previously he was an engineer for Volkswagen in Englewood Cliffs. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church of Hackensack. Devoted father of Jana A. Welkey of Hewitt and George M. Welkey of Hewitt. Dear brother of Jana v. Welkey of Lehighton, PA and Michael G. Welkey and his wife Jill of Boca Raton, FL Loving friend of Carol Guastelle of New Milford. The Mass of Requiem will be celebrated on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at St. Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church, 72 Lodi Street, Hackensack at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the John Theurer Cancer Center, c/o Hackensack University Medical Center, 360 Essex Street, Suite 301, Hackensack, NJ 07601, would be appreciated.
