Obituary of Domenico Careri

DOMENICO "MICO U PALUMBO" CARERI, of Little Ferry, died on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at the Hackensack Inpatient Hospice Unit, at the age of 78 years. Born in Pellegrino, Italy, he came to this country in 1962. He lived in Hackensack prior to moving to Little Ferry 38 years ago. Prior to retiring, he owned Careri Construction Company of Little Ferry for more than 40 years. He had served on the Little Ferry Board of Adjustment and was a parishioner of St. Margaret of Cortona R. C. Church. Beloved husband for 52 years of Giovanna (nee Pitasi). Devoted father of Carmela Migale and her husband Giuseppe of Bogota, Caterina Federico and her husband Frank of Little Ferry, and Frances Careri of Little Ferry. Loving grandfather of Stefania, Lorenzo, Christina, and Frankie. Cherished great grandfather of Matthew and Luca. Dearest brother of Giovanni Careri and his wife Giovanna of Pellegrino, Italy, Carmela Latella and her husband Antonio of Little Ferry, Grazia Iaria and her husband Antonio of Savona, Italy, Giuseppa Calabro and her husband Giuseppe of Little Ferry, and the late Giuseppe Careri and Carmelo Careri. Adored uncle of many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 11th, at St. Margaret of Cortona R. C. Church, 31 Chamberlain Avenue, Little Ferry, at 10:00 AM with entombment following at St. Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook. Visiting will be on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to either the American Diabetes Association, 19 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset, NJ 08873 or the American Lung Association of New Jersey, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083 would be appreciated.
