Obituary of Dominick Carucci
DOMINICK "NICK' CARUCCI SR, of Hackensack, died on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Hackensack University Medical Center, at the age of 89 years. Prior to retiring in 1980, he worked in Bruno and D'Elia of Hackensack for 35 years, He also worked for the Board of Education of Hackensack at Jackson Avenue School for 10 years. Nick was proud to greet people at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home of Hackensack for the past 16 years. He was an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. He was a member and past commander of the VFW Post # 8005 of South Hackensack, a member of the American Legion Post # 55 of Hackensack, a member of the Hackensack Chapter of U.N.I.C.O., a member of the Hackensack Troast Club, and the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council # 747 of Hackensack. He also was a member of Teamsters Local # 560 of Union City. He was a parishioner of St. Francis R. C. Church of Hackensack where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Ushers Society, and the St. Francis Socialites. Beloved husband of the late Gladys R. Merwede Carucci (1994). Devoted father of Thomas Carucci and his wife Arlene of Hackensack, Nick Carucci and his wife Penny of South Carolina, James Carucci and his wife Terry of Hackensack, and Nancy Jean Carucci of Hackensack. Loving grandfather of Deena, Dana, Jason, Kristen, James, Stephen, Brian, Joseph, Nicole, Emily and Sarah. and ten great grandchildren. Nick is predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many other close relatives and friends. He also leaves behind his sweetheart of 14 years, Gloria Cimiluca of Hasbrouck Heights. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 7th, at St. Francis R. C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, at 11:00 AM with burial following at Maple Grove Park Cemetery. Visiting will be on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 PM and Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
