Obituary of Matthew E. Collins

MATTHEW E. COLLINS, of Maywood , died on Friday, May 29 2009, at Hackensack University Medical Center, at the age of 87 years. Born in New York City , he lived in Astoria NY and in Maywood for the past 45 years. Prior to retiring, he worked for the United States Postal Service in New York City for 33 years. He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II and was a member of the Maywood Senior Citizens. Husband to Doris (nee Wells) Collins. Loving father to Matthew E. Collins and his wife Denise of Pompton Lakes, Kenneth Collins and Pat of Midlothian VA, and Christopher Collins and his wife Lyn of Bloomfield. Dearest grandfather to Sean, Kim, Melissa, Jennifer, Stephen, James, Veronica, Christopher and Ian. The Funeral Service on Tuesday June 2nd, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with burial following at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Astoria , NY . Visiting will be on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
