Obituary of Allen J. Ralston

ALLEN J. RALSTON, of Wayne, formerly of Hackensack and East Hanover, died suddenly on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital in Glens Falls, New York. Prior to retiring as the Chairman of the Business Department at Hackensack High School in 1999, he had a career in education that spanned for 40 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree from Montclair Sate College. He began his career as an Industrial Arts Teacher at the High School and also served as a Driver Education Teacher and an Athletic Trainer. He was a member of both the Bergen Country and New Jersey Education Associations, the Knights of Columbus of St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, the Gold Wing Riders Association and the American Motorcycle Association. He is survived by his loving companion, Ginnie Long, his daughters, Susan Ralston of Parrish, Florida, Sharon Ralston and her husband Andy Aylesworth of Framingham, Massachusetts, Carol and her husband Hubie Paprotna of Palm City, Florida, Kim and her husband Steve Nazzarese of Wyckoff, and Kristy Long of Washington D. C., his grandchildren, Sarah, Joseph and Maya and a brother Kenneth Ralston and his wife Susan of Porter Corners, New York. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM, concluding with a memorial service at 6:30 PM, Reverend Patrick Donohue officiating.
