Obituary of Josephine Filipkowski

JOSEPHINE FILIPKOWSKI, (nee Drozd), of Hackensack passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 20, 2014, at the age of 92. Josephine was a very devoted wife, mother, sister and friend; she especially loved her trips to Atlantic City and playing Bingo. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack. Beloved wife of the late Edward F. Filipkowski (2004). Loving mother of Mark Filipkowski and his wife the late Melissa and Steven Filipkowski of Hackensack. Dearest sister of Theresa Grabowski of Manchester, NJ, Victoria Cancalosi of Naples Florida and the late Stanley, Charlie and Adam Drozd and Jeanne Rutzel, Helen Johnson and Margaret Drozd. Josephine is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral on Saturday at 9:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack at 11:00 AM with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.
