Obituary of Rose Giacalone

Rose Plati Giacalone, of South Hackensack, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at the Hackensack University Medical Center at the age of 89 years. Prior to retiring, she was a seamstress for Gluckin's Bra Factory of Hackensack. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Hackensack, the South Hackensack Seniors, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the South Hackensack Fire Department. Predeceased by her husband Nunzio Giacalone, a sister, Millie De Lorenzo, and three brothers, Morris Plati, John Plati and Michael Plati, she is survived by her daughter, Katherine Spadavecchia and her husband Pat of South Hackensack, her grandchildren, Patricia Ostrander and her husband Kenneth of South Hackensack, Richard Spadavecchia of South Hackensack, and Ronald Spadavecchia and his wife Laurie of Moonachie, her great grandchildren, David, Bryan, Katelyn, and Michael, a brother, Fred Plati and his wife Sadie of Arizona, and three sisters, Lucy Scanapieco of South Hackensack, Mary Brenner of Titusville, Florida, and Theresa Garafalo of Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack of Friday, January 12th, at 9:30 AM with entombment following at Hackensack Cemetery. Visiting will be on Thursday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM.
