Obituary of Blanche E. Grant

BLANCHE E. GRANT, of Teaneck, died peacefully, on Sunday, December 7, 2008, at Hackensack University Medical Center at the age of 96 years. Born on April 18, 1912 in New York City, she was a long time resident of Brooklyn Heights, NY. She moved to the Classic Residence by Hyatt in Teaneck in the later years of her life. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bryn Mawr College and her Master of Arts Degree from Teacher's College at Columbia University in New York. She worked for the New York City Board of Education and was a member of the Garden Club and Ethical Culture Society, both of Teaneck. Predeceased by her husband, Walter Grant, she is survived by her son, Alan Grant of Scarborough, NY and her daughter, Vera Brown of Wesley Hills, NY, her grandchildren, Jennifer Miocevich, Gregory Grant, Kenneth Brown and Laura Brown, her great grandchildren, Karina Miocevich, Annika Miocevich, Cassidy Brown and Madeleine Brown, and her sister, Anne White. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the Ethical Culture Society Meeting House, 687 Larch Avenue, Teaneck, at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations to the Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County would be appreciated.
