Obituary of Manuel C. Jackson
MANUEL C. JACKSON , of Bronx. NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the age of 83 years. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on April 5, 1929, to Chofen Jackson and his wife, Frances (nee Kizer) and came to New York in 1971. Prior to retiring, he was a police officer for the City of New York where he worked for 25 years. He served his country during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army. He was a member of the P.B.A. of New York City. Beloved husband of the late Virginia (nee Hughes). Devoted father of Veronica Jackson of Bronx, NY, Frances Jackson of Bronx, NY, Eleanor V. Bradley of Hackensack, and the late David Jackson. Cherished grandfather of Virginia Jackson Reed. Dearest brother of Myrtle Shine of Kennesaw, GA, Betty Hollingsworth of Hawthorne, CA, and Marcus Jackson of Leawood, Kansas. The funeral service on Wednesday, February 20th, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, Rev. Larry Craig officiating with entombment following at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 - 7 PM
