Dear Sanjurjo Family,
I pray you will accept my family and my deepest condolences, we are the Abdullah family which is Santana’s mom’s family.
We heard so much about BELOVED Mama Judy from ISAAC, SANTANA, and AZIZA . Even though, I Grandma Jacqueline have only spoken to her by phone on several occasions, you could sense the great love she had for her family and loved ones.
May she rest in peace and may God’s loving arms console and embrace you during this time of sorrow.

I love you so much, Mom. Our bond as mother and son was truly special. Everyone could see how much you loved me, and I loved you. Our friendship was unbreakable. I confided everything in you, knowing you would never judge me. We spoke every day and shared everything.
When I look at my daughter, I see so much of you in her. She carries your personality and your beautiful smile. It's remarkable how she was born just a week after your birthday. The moments you spent with her were truly precious. She has a love for dancing, just like you, Mom.

A few things that never left me from my childhood—
1) You taught us to love and have faith in God (and go to church with a donation envelope every Sunday).
2) There was no other option than to go to college and become a “professional” lol.
3) In every space you entered, you were unapologetically your authentic, bold, vibrant self.
Thank you for instilling morals, pride and ambition! I’m thankful for you raising me as your daughter. No matter how far apart we’d become, you never stopped reminding me I was still your kid. And I never stopped carrying parts of you throughout my journey. There would be no me without you.

Back then the projects were like a great big concentration camp of US! The poorest percentage of people in the city. But we had an Apt that was always fly, pops was a furrier (made minx, chinchilla, rabbit, fox, etc..) I had lil minx, fox, rabbits my whole life! I went to Catholic school. I remember my 11th bday they bought me a 14k Mercedes Benz medalion/chain, I had a great childhood. May God bless my parents, both in life & after life.
I also remember holidays as a child at abuelas house, with salsa & merenque music blaring all day on the eve of holidays. Because Latin people start celebrating on the eve baby.. all my uncles & aunts in the house, abuela & mom cooking the food. Always a pernil, arroz con gandulez, platanos, aquacate chicken, turkey typical P.R./Dominican cuisine. And you can bet they are going to get twisted in the eve & keep cooking, drinking, dancing & rocking til a fight broke out! Ask anyone who remembers, without a doubt every holiday. Praise God, it was legendary. You had to see it, like some TV show shit!
But nonetheless, as the oldest female of abuelas children, my mom was always the rock of her family. May God bless her for her good deeds, have mercy on her, & raise her station in paradise.

Some of my earliest memories are with you at my birthday parties. You would pack everyone in the car and drive from NYC to Baltimore, MD just to show up for me.
